Early La Idea Applicants Randomly Selected for Free Business Support Services

Three small businesses that completed their La Idea Business Pitch Competition application by the original deadline of August 1, 2013 were randomly selected to receive an amazing package of business support services, including: Pro bono legal consultation session with Goodwin Procter’s Neighborhood Business Initiative, a one-hour perfecting your pitch consultation with Miami-based accelerator and incubator VentureHive, a video pitch featured on Univision.com and LaIdea.CO, a .CO domain for 12 months, a year of free web hosting and a one-hour website development consultation with Starfish*Global, a one-hour business financial planning consultation courtesy of Gregg Baker, Vice President, Business Banking Group, RBS Citizens, N.A. / Charter One.

Join the La Idea community to connect to business support services like these, and apply to the La Idea Business Pitch competition for your chance to compete for up to $50,000 in grant awards and pro-bono legal, marketing, and strategy business advisory services.  Deadline for the competition is 5:00 PM EDT on September 20, 2013.

The three randomly selected businesses that will receive the pro-bono legal and business services are:

• All Digital Media which offers innovative online marketing services to small and medium size businesses.  The partners of All Digital Media are located in Miami, Florida and Medellin, Colombia.

• ANCONA SUNTECH works in electricity generation and water treatment from renewable sources.  The partners of ANCONA SUNTECH are located in Farmington Hills, Michigan and Mexicali, Mexico.

• Ceramica Las Marias specialize in the manufacturing, design and decoration of pottery.  The partners of Ceramica Las Marias are located in Austin, Texas and Mixco, Guatemala.

The La Idea Business Pitch Competition is an opportunity for partnerships between entrepreneurs in the United States and Latin America to compete for up to $50,000 in grant awards and tailored business support services.  Ten partnerships will receive a coveted spot in the competition’s finalist event, to be covered by Univision News, La Idea’s official media partner, where they will pitch their business or idea live in front of a panel of celebrity judges.  The La Idea Business Pitch Competition is a component of the La Idea partnership, a program that empowers entrepreneurs within the Latin American Diaspora to cultivate and grow innovative businesses and startups that will generate employment and economic growth throughout the Americas.  U.S. businesses with partnerships in Latin America have until 5:00pm EDT on September 20, 2013 to complete the La Idea Business Pitch Competition online.
