Life is not always predictable but it can be managed with an understanding company and a flexible schedule. According to the workers interviewed for the FIELD study, a stable and yet flexible schedule is key to managing work-life responsibilities. While a job is vital to life, workers described juggling childcare, second jobs, and education commitments in their lives as well. With 29% of those interviewed working more than one job, the stability from the microenterprises was important in order to better manage other personal responsibilities. Stable schedules were reported by 80% of workers, and 87% reported having flexibility in their schedules which prove to be vital in their work-life balance.
